Familial catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia

Familial catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) is an inherited disorder of calcium metabolism, leading to a risk of ventricular arrhythmias and sudden death especially during physical or emotional stress. The heart is structurally normal and the resting ECG is normal. Diagnosis requires exercise stress testing to evoke the arrhythmias. Treatment includes beta blockers and ICD insertion.
